Spring Kids Fishing Derby Results
The Annual Willie Gray Memorial Spring Fishing Derby was attended by over twenty kids. Despite the low turnout many fish were caught. Sixty - five to be exact. Thanks to all the club volunteers who make this even a success each year; the smiles on these kids faces, some who caught their first fish ever that day, is priceless. Thanks to Hugh Shoelzel for hosting, it was a great day.
Workbee / BBQ
About a dozen people showed up for the annual workbee and BBQ on June 4th. We were able to get the following tasks done, and although not everything on the list was taken care of, we did put a dent in it: Repainted Range Shooting Benches; Painted Clubhouse Window Trim; Wired Pavilion W/Lights; Cleaned Clubhouse Attic; Cleaned Traphouse; Installed New Lights In Clubhouse. We all enjoyed a meal of BBQ pork and chicken afterwards.
There is still plenty more to do. If you have an inclination to help out your club and would like a job to do at your own pace and on your own schedule contact Todd (413-475-2091 - email@example.com) and he will set you up. We still have plenty of painting projects to tackle including more clubhouse trim and the pavilion picnic tables; also wood shed clean-up, and some pheasant pen electrical work, and some trap machine mechanical work.
Sanderson Academy Annual Class Reunion
Sanderson Academy will have their annual class reunion on July 8th. They will be on club grounds preparing for the gathering in the morning, and the luncheon will begin shortly after noon.
**The range will be closed during this event**
Pheasant Pen Is Up - Feeding Crew Needed
Thanks to the crew of about eight people who came out on June 17th to get the pheasant pen set up for the arrival of the birds (due July 10th). Between their efforts and Joe Miraglias great direction, we had the job done in record time. There are still slots available in the feeding and watering schedule; we need people to take care of the birds while they are being raised and we have folks sign up to do this taking responsibility for a week at a time. If you can take this on for one week (this usually means filling the feeders and checking the automatic waterers three-four times during your assigned week) please contact Joe (413-628-4400) and sign up

** WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY REQUESTS FOR CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS AS OF 6/28/17. IF INTERESTED CONTACT THE CLUB ASAP!**
The ARGC has scholarship money available to help send youth to conservation camp in either MA or VT each summer. The time to apply for camp is upon us; applications must be turned in early each year as the camps can only take a limited number of people, and the spaces fill up quickly. If you have a young adult interested in the outdoors, shooting, archery, camping, hunting , fishing, forestry, wildlife, etc. then these camps might be a fun summer time activity for them. Scholarships are available to youths directly affiliated with club members (child, grandchild, etc.) If you have a question regarding eligibility, please contact the club. The BOD will make the final determination. For more information about each camp, go to the Education page on our website and follow the links to the camp websites.
